Charred Tree

Foreshadow

Behold, a charred tree.

Today, during an evening walk near the Guadalupe Trail I happened to see a single tree amongst others that was charred black from what looked like a fire. It was weird that none of the other trees around it were burnt so I let my mind fill in the blanks.

“Maybe it was a controlled fire so that a large fire wouldn’t break out?”

That’s what I told myself initially.

Soon I was on my way home and noticed the air looked smoky.

I didn’t hear about a fire so I didn’t think much of it.

My wife came home with the same question about the smoke and assumed there must have been one if there was smoke.

As time went on this evening I started to let my intelligence lead me.

“Remember last time when the sky was filled with smoke?

That one time where everyone was wearing face masks and we had an N95 shortage?

It was right before we had that other thing that people needed face masks for.

‘Member?……..”

Yes, I remember inner self. It was right before Covid.

Shadow

The PG&E Fires

Remember when PG&E got sued multiple times for causing fires in 2019, 2020, and 2021?

They ended up causing around $2 billion dollars worth of losses as well as the loss of lives and homes.

Essential workers and anyone exposed to the smoke were urged to wear N95 Masks but they were in short supply around that time….

Ventilators and Vaccinations

Remember when Flu season came around but got overshadowed by COVID-2019?

A respiratory disease just like the flu.

Respiratory diseases directly impact your organs in control of breathing.

Face masks of all types were mandatory back then. N95s, surgical masks, etc.

I Can’t Breathe!

Remember on May 25, 2020, George Floyd was killed after repeatedly stating the words “I Can’t Breathe.”?

Upon initially complying and then resisting when his claustrophobia was triggered he was pinned to the ground with a knee to the neck.

Remember after that we really started seeing more people getting killed in this manner in the media?

Conclusion

All this to say there are always signs to what’s to come.

Keep a watchful eye the coming fire season, covid season, election season for clues on how your health might be at risk.

For help with your respiratory health try theses lifestyle changes

  • Increase activity frequency - Go walk more often and break a sweat. Great for respiratory system.

  • Increase fruits, veggies, herbs. High in vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, and compounds that help the immune system.

  • Reduce substances that are hard on the body like drugs, alcohol, junk food, meat, dairy, and processed foods; including genetically modified organisms.

  • Practice deep diaphramagtic breathing. Take a breath that makes you belly poke out a bit.

  • Look into herbs like: Mullein, Peppermint, Oregano, Basil, Eucalyptus, and Licorice to help.

  • Stay hydrated

As always, consult your primary care provider to check what would be the best option for working with a new health regimen.

Stay up y’all
